[edit] Desktop Browsers

Internet Explorer - The web browser from the folks at Microsoft. IE is widely considered to be the most popular web browser on the market, largely due to its inclusion with Windows.

Firefox - The web browser from Mozilla, the creators of the legendary Netscape browser. Firefox is the first major browser to make tabbed browsing a standard feature. It is also considered to be the main alternative to Internet Explorer.

Opera - The browser suite from the Norway-based Opera Software. It is the last of the major browsers to be given away for free. Opera is currently available for several diverse platforms, including desktop computers, mobile devices, and the Nintendo DS.

Safari - The browser of choice for millions of Mac users worldwide. Safari is considered to be one of most powerful browsers on the market today thanks to Apple's WebKit technology. Safari has also been criticized for its lackluster security. A Windows version of Safari was released on June 11th, 2007.

Konqueror - A Linux-only browser designed to run on the KDE desktop environment. Konqueror's rendering agent, KHTML, was used as the basis for WebKit.

Camino - A Mac-only browser designed to compete with Safari.
