Google - Arguably the most popular search engine in the world. The one web service that almost everyone has heard of.
Yahoo - The perpetual number two. Still popular (especially in Japan), but not necessarily financially sound.
Clusty - Search results are arranged in "clusters" - relevant information is bunched together. Clusty is also a meta search engine, meaning that it searches several search engines at once.
Cuil - Results come back in a unique, three-column format. Cuil is the brainchild of former Google employees Tom Costello and Anna Patterson. Cuil also claims to have more sites in their search database that Google.
Mahalo - A search engine researched, powered, and maintained by a series of editors.
ManagedQ - A search engine that displays its search results in thumbnail form.
