MySpace- The one service that most people think of when they hear the words "social networking." Extremely popular with most Americans, but is the number two network elsewhere. MySpace is owned by News Corporation.
Facebook - The "other" network. While it's the most popular network in the world, it's a distant number two the US and Germany, and number three in Japan. Facebook is perhaps best known for its wide array of proprietary applications.
Friendster - One of the first social networks. While its popularity has dissipated in the United States, it remains a favorite in Asia.
Bebo - A fairly new but popular network, especially in the United Kingdom. It has been linked with the likes of Microsoft, Adobe, and celebrity biologist Richard Dawkins.
LinkedIn - The business world's most popular social network. LinkedIn shares content with business cable network CNBC.
